Windmill field, Bac Lieu
Despite being a province in the Cuu Long river delta, Bac Lieu is a place that gets little recognition from tourists. Many people only know about Bac Lieu through some rumors around the house of “the Bac Lieu dandy”. However, that Bac Lieu has the largest windmill field in Vietnam should make you consider a trip here as soon as possible.
From Bac Lieu city, follow Cao Van Lau road to the sea and you will meet the wind power plant factory at East Sea A hamlet, Vinh Trach Dong commune. The factory is about 20 km far from the city center, but from a very far distance, you can still see the turbines with fans like pinwheels in the sky. This is the favorite spot for pictures of many young people when coming to Bac Lieu.
Tra Su melaleuca forest, An Giang
Tra Su melaleuca forest is in Tinh Bien district with an area of about 850 ha with a diverse ecosystem, which is a symbol of beauty in the flooding season of An Giang. Boating experience in the middle of green duckweed plants to explore the melaleuca forest and enjoy the sound of birds will be definitely unforgettable. According to tour guides here, you can visit Tra Su melaleuca forest at any time of the year but it is most beautiful in the flooding season from September to November.
Tan Lap floating village, Long An
Tan Lap floating village, which is also known as Tan Lap melaleuca forest, is in Moc Hoa district, Long An. This is a pretty new tourist attraction but this village still appeals to tourists because people come here for a feeling of relaxation, to enjoy themselves in the greenery of the melaleuca forest and to escape from the exhaustion of the busy urban life.
Tram Chim national garden, Dong Thap
Tram Chim national garden, Tam Nong district, Dong Thap province, has become a preserved area since 1994. This is the place with the largest flooding area of Dong Thap Muoi area, which is recognised as the fourth ramsar site of Vietnam and the 2000th in the world with more than 232 bird species with many rare species such as land peacock, painted stork, oriental darter, ibis and spoonbill, etc.; especially red-headed crane - a bird in the worldwide endangered species list.
Dong Tam snake farm, Tien Giang
Dong Tam snake farm, which is also known as the 9th military district medicine factory, is located next to Tien river with an area of about 30 ha and a green, airy atmosphere. This is one of the largest snake farms in Vietnam with more than 400 species and is considered as the first snake museum in Vietnam, which attracts many national and international tourists to visit, learn and research.
Here you can closely view the snakes from the friendly and harmless to the extremely poisonous kinds of snake. Snakes are openly nourished here and there are 3 areas according to the characteristics of each species: lake area, poisonous snake area and python area.
Cai Rang floating market, Can Tho
Talking about Can Tho, definitely everyone will know the famous Cai Rang floating market. This is a must-visit when you have some time to visit Can Tho. The floating market is a unique culture of the Southwestern people of Vietnam that you can not find anywhere else. Furthermore, Cai Rang floating market is one in the five largest floating markets in the Cuu Long river delta.
The house of Bac Lieu dandy
This is located at 13 Dien Bien Phu, 3rd commune, Bac Lieu city. With French architecture style and constructing materials delivered from France, this is considered as the most gorgeous house in the South of Vietnam at the beginning of the 20th century. Besides from sightseeing and learning about architecture and historical items tourists can also hear the story about the life of the richest “playboy” in the Vietnamese Southern area. This is a place that every tourist to Bac Lieu wants to visit.
Thoi Son islet, Tien Giang
Thoi Son islet, which is also known as Thai Son or Lan islet, is located at the downstream of Tien river at Thoi Son commune, My Tho, Tien Giang. The attractive feature of Thoi Son is that not only there is a great variety of fruits here, this place is also a perfect place for garden tourism for your weekend.
Visiting Thai Son islet, tourists will be able to experience the distinct tourism of the river area, which goes downstream goes downstream by ferry through the winding canal between two sides of the nipa palm. Additionally, you can also walk on the winding trails through the garden and sipping some honey tea in the garden while listening to some Southern amateur music.
Xeo Quyt ecological area, Dong Thap
Being about 30 km far from Cao Lanh city center, on the area of My Long and My Hiep commune, this historical site combining with Xeo Quyt ecological area will bring tourists a feeling of being in the beautiful primary forest.
With the total area of more than 50 ha, in which there are 20ha of melaleuca forest and a system of mangroves, etc. , Xeo Quyt has a gorgeous natural beauty with greenery. Visiting the site, tourists have two options for traveling. If you want to creep under the forest trees, you can walk along the main road in the site which is 1,5km long. Otherwise, you can experience the feeling of this are by sitting in a 3-leave boat and go through the small canals to visit the site.
Nga Nam floating market, Soc Trang
Nga Nam floating market is at Nga Nam town, Thanh Tri, Soc Trang. The unique feature of the market is that it is located at the intersection of 5 rivers to 5 places: Ca Mau, Vinh Quoi, Long My, Thanh Tri, Phung Hiep. This is one of the oldest and most bustle market in the Cuu Long river delta.
Tourists visiting here will be able to experience the daily lives of the local people with the activity of buying and selling on boats. Moreover, you can also try some of the local fruits of this water area.
Xien Can temple, Bac Lieu
The temple is a specialty of Khmer people at Bac Lieu and located at Bien Dong B hamlet, Vinh Trach Dong commune. It is constructed in the 19th century with an area of 50,000 m2. through the treeline from the national route, tourists will be amazed by the carefully decorated temple with uniquely sculpted and special patterns.
Bat temple, Soc Trang
Bat temple at 73B Le Hong Phong road, 3rd commune, Soc Trang is one of the most well-known temples in Soc Trang with gorgeous architecture, fresh scenery and the strangest thing here is thousands of bats hanging on trees in the morning in the garden. The road to Bat temple is beautiful and romantic and there is also a bike-renting service for sightseeing. Tourists often visit temples not only for spiritual purposes but also to view the bats.

This is about 28 km far from Ha Tien seaside and 40 km far from Phu Quoc island. Most of the island area is covered by forest; the place near the salty water area is full of rocky rapids. Besides being able to explore and hear the locals tell about the origin of the name “Pirate island”, you will get the chance to enjoy the natural scenery with a wilder and fresh beauty.
Ca Mau Cape
Ca Mau Cape is at Mui neighbors, Dat Mui commune, Ngoc Hien and more than 100 km far from Ca Mau city. This is the land in the Southernmost area of Vietnam, which is a sacred location for the Vietnamese. Ca Mau Cape does not attract people with a poetic and gorgeous scenery but this place is also extremely appealing with its plain and wilder beauty. Moreover, this is an important spot in the country - the land at the end of Vietnam.
