Day 1: Luang Prabang

Heading out of town we ride our bike along the track past the scenic area before we arrive at Wat Pa Phon Phao, a secluded temple which is dedicated to Ajahn Saisamut teacher. The next stop is Ban Panom populated by the Thai Lue. The home production of traditional weaving makes for large incomes to villagers. We continue venturing into this area past rice paddies on the way to the Lao Spirit Resort. On arrival we see the Asian Elephants and enjoy a scenic ride of an hour and half.

The elephant trail goes through jungle and rice paddies, giving us wonderful views of the river valley and the mountain landscape. We reach the Tad Sae Waterfall by late morning and have a stop for lunch and breather. Upon leaving this site we embark on a motorboat to the elephant camp and get on bike again for a ride back to the town.

Five common questions travellers ask us

1. How long and where to visit for first-timers?

For first-timers, 5 days can be enough to take in Laos at a glance. An ideal order should be going from Vientiane to Luang Prabang.

Luang Prabang, nestled at the comfortable confluence of two mighty rivers, Luang Prabang is the northern emerald gem of Laos. Although it is cozy enough for you to navigate its leafy lanes on your own two feet, there is still plenty to see and do. Vientiane, vientiane may be the busiest city in Laos, it is a remarkable blend of French colonial architecture and soaring gilded temples and monasteries.

2. When is the best time to visit Laos?

No matter for first-timers or seasoned travelers, an adventure to these three countries is ideally made during October to next February. If you would like to dodge from big crowds, leave Chirstmas and January.

Travelling for great value and experiences, we would suggest late September to October and February. If the heat and occasional rainfalls are not much a problem for you, you are in for a great deal during the shoulder seasons, namely March to August. During this time, we will arrange a noon break and the pace will be much lossen as for you to restore.

3. What is the best way to get to Laos?

First option is by air. Cambodia has three major international airports: Vientiane International Airport & Luang Prabang International Airport.

Bangkok and Hanoi are the most-friendly transit hubs as they have better airfares and much easier to get around.
