Discover Ozo forest in Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park

26-Nov-2019

Ozo area is located amidst Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park (Quang Binh), with an interesting and beautiful limestone forest ecosystem for visitors to enjoy.

discover ozo forest

In the summer, Ozo becomes an interesting destination thanks to the system of clear rivers and streams, smooth sandy beaches in the middle of a quiet deep forest ...

The forest area that is used for tourism is nearly 5 hectares. In addition to sightseeing, visitors can also challenge themselves by adventurous games such as exploring caves, walking in the air, 150m long swing, diving in the deep cave …

Liaozhai scene

In the early morning or twilight, when it is foggy, visitors go through the wooden bridges and suspension bridges crossing streams in the wilderness of the wild and mysterious. Strolling on a 999m passageway, winding under the foliage of an ancient tree in the early morning fog and shimmering, visitors can feel the scent of many blooming flowers in the summer growing thickly on both sides heating.

When night falls, in the tranquility of the primeval mountains, there be the shadow of the wild animal pulls to the stream to find food or chase each other along the sand or climb on rocky slopes. Sometimes the birds call to the nest to warm up the forest ...

The stream of Ozo is cool, the sides are full of pristine green trees inclined to the surface of the stream that flows smoothly in the middle of the forest. Trees, sandy beaches and raised limestone edges ... the scene looks like a watercolor painting. Here and there on the tree hide the small leaf huts where visitors rest ...

Ozo Cave is a new attraction in this forest area. Ozo is a water cave, 2.7 km long, 3-4m high with many pretty stalactites. The bigger you go into the cave, the more surprised you are, dispelling the fear of darkness and narrow space. When you have reached the end of the cave, you will come across a skylight filled with light, connecting to the primeval forest.

About 20m from the cave entrance, there is a section of deep water that tourists have to swim through before walking amidst the magical beauty of the stalactites. There are stalactites very different from other caves in Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park.

There is a stalactite that looked like curtains falling from the ceiling of the cave, sparkling like someone had accidentally dropped a glitter on the stone curtain. There are many giant stalactites, also iridescent filled with glitter. There are many stalactites that look like terraced fields, or like pumpkins ...

Summer games full of feeling

After a walk along the shallow stream, watching the fish swarming up, visitors can participate in adventure games in Ozo park. It is such a challenge for yourself with the wooden bridges crouching on the trees, or kayaking and sup boats down the 999m long stream with the highlight of a small waterfall.

Travelers who like thrills will experience 16 tree games such as walking on a rope, climbing and climbing like Tarzan, walking on cables and ropes through streams, etc. If travelers are tired, they will choose a corner of the forest with hammocks or find wooden stalls on the surface of the spring water to rest for a while.

Nearby is the waterfall where visitors can jump into the shower to feel the refreshment because the water in the forest is often very cool. Those who like to explore the landscape will definitely be satisfied with a diverse ecosystem such as watching fish, bird watching, watching 76 species of plants and flowers on the wooden path on either side of the Ozo stream, or walking about 1km along a quiet stream.

Visitors can also follow the path along the stream to take photos to remember a trip in the primeval forest of the world’s natural heritage of geomorphology and biodiversity, Phong Nha- Ke Bang National Park. People can also end a day of discovery by jumping from 150m long zip line down the stream ...

After exploring Ozo park delightfully, visitors can enjoy the local cuisine displayed on the rustic bamboo under the ancient forest trees such as grilled stream fish, grilled ant chicken, pork raised in the forest, snail slot, etc with forest vegetables, such as tau bay, don (a fern species) has just been picked ...

Mysterious Ozo

Ozo cave also has a mysterious feature, that is, there are many places where the cave cavity is only about 15m wide but more than 40m high, like opening a door to the sky. Deep in the cave is a smooth golden sand and blue underground water stream.

Entering the cave, visitors can feel the flow of cool air because it is like an air conditioner, almost without any stuffy feeling because the cave always has air flowing from the sky wells.

Skylights are the final point of conquering Ozo cave. There is one more interesting thing here: the underground stream in the cave suddenly flows upwards, just like water rises. Right above the skylight is a forest full of ancient trees, many trees with a diameter of 1-1.5m. Not far away from that is the forest growing exclusively for the species of the dipper.
