If you’ve ever been craving for a snack, a sip of home-made milk tea, or a few pieces of rice paper salad while traveling but do not know where to buy, this is the article for you. JTA Tours, after many times "spying the area" has summarized 11 street food corners in Hue, which are the most popular among young people.

1. Thach Han fried rice dumpling cake (Banh bot loc chien Thach Han)

Fried rice dumpling cake is a popular snack in Hue and there are also a lot of sidewalk shops selling this dish, but if you want to try one of the best ones in Hue, you must come to 134 Thach Han. The reason why this snack shop stands out among many other shops in Hue is due to the unique flavor of the dumpling cake, the know-how of crispy frying and bold flavor of the sauce which cannot be mistaken with any other restaurant.

You can try fried rice dumpling cake with chili sauce but other than that, there is a special sauce made in Thach Han, which is a cup of fish sauce that is "boiled" with sugar and then added with a little chili to accelerate the taste. The cake is crispy and hot, and a bit chewy, with a little salty taste from the shrimp and minced meat. At the restaurant, side dishes such as quail eggs or fermented pork are also served.

To enjoy this delicious dish in authentic Hue style, you can visit the street vendor locating at the foot of Thien Mu Pagoda, Nguyen Phuc Nguyen Street. For nearly a decade until now, there have been two sisters selling tofu who always serve delicious, warm tofu cups every afternoon. The two are sisters so you don't need to wonder which side is better, since both are "standard" taste. Each cup of this "childhood taste" is so sweet but super cheap, sold for 5,000 VND only.
