23-Sep-2019

Ha Giang is known as a province at the Northernmost point of Vietnam. In addition to the gorgeous mountainous scenery and the beautiful trials round the slope of the mountain, this area also has a colorful culture. There are many lively markets held every week from Quan Ba to Dong Van or Meo Vac;  the Khau Vai market in the area is for love couples. High on the slope of the mountains with the green color of corn fields, there are many traditional houses of the local people and fences which are made of mountain rocks.

Surprisingly, the dryness and severe of the weather here sometimes create some strangely wonderful scenery. Every end of winter and beginning of spring, people can see a picturesque scenery of the industrious workers and farmers of the local tribes (Mong, Dao, Nung, etc. people) here working on the fields. Many even says that this season is like the time when rocks start blooming as a simile. Ha Giang in this season is full of brilliant colors of several kinds of flowers: yellow from rape flowers, white from plum blossoms, pink from peach blossoms, light pink and violet of buckwheat flowers, crimson from thun tu flowers, etc. It is hard to describe this place which has a grayish color of rugger rock ; however, many tourists to Ha Giang still want to return here many times…

Transportation

Ha Giang city is about 300km from Hanoi. Nevertheless, this place is only the beginning of our journey to explore the area. From Hanoi, there are many different ways to reach Ha Giang: by motorbike, bus, or by your own car.

If you decide to travel to Ha Giang by bus, you can travel at any time of the day, but usually, people often choose the sleeper bus which starts at about 8 p.m or 9 p.m every day and arrives at Ha Giang city at about 4 a.m to 6 p.m on the next day. From here, you can choose to catch the local buses to visit all 4 provinces of this area or hire a motorbike and explore the craggiest mountain pass in Vietnam. You can also travel by bus to the center of each province and hire a motorbike to go into the communes and villages. There are many buses to Ha Giang in My Dinh bus station, Hanoi. From Ha Giang back to Hanoi, there are also many sleeper buses like that to help you save time.

Motorbike is the vehicle that many young people choose to explore the area. If you decide to ride a motorbike to Ha Giang, you should join a group with 2 to 3 motorbikes and prepare some special skills like the skill for travelling long distance. From Ha Noi, you make your way to Tuyen Quang by route 2 or 2C and then head to Ha Giang, where you can start to explore the 4 provinces on the high latitude. The advantage of travelling by motorbike is that it is mobile and it can enter the villages easily. However, travelling by motorbike is not as safe as travelling by car.

You can also drive your own car to take your family on a trip to Ha Giang through the same route as if you travel by motorbike. Otherwise, if you want to save some time, you can choose to do by route Noi Bai – Lao Cai to Phong Chau or Doan Hung (Phu Tho) to turn to Tuyen Quang and head to Ha Giang.

Some young people even choose bikes to explore every corner of this place.
